    1. League Secretary’s Report

E-mail received from Durham Bobcats giving a contact name and number for one of their team who will be the secretary for the season:  Helen Holah 07590 536109 h.f.holah@durham.ac.uk, Dave Elderkin will remain the main contact person.

E-mail from Bruce Marshall indicating four players who owe Teesside Hornets money:  Marc Taylor (now paid), Lee Norton (now paid), Mike James and Steve Harrington.  These will not be allowed to register with any club in the Durham League until all outstanding money has been paid.  It was agreed that the League would ask all clubs to declare any players owing money to them at the Annual General Meeting.

    Development Players:

The following players have been designated ‘Development Players’ and are therefore allowed to float:

    Hartlepool Heat:

Paul Atkinson, Dave Carless, Dylan Fisher, Adam Musgrave, Jimi Aramdide, Paul Robson, Micah Innes and Cameron Battman.

    Teesside Hornets:

Adam Keates, Luke Moran, Brett Green, Tom Syzman, Emil Mystkowski, and Joe McDonnell.

    East Durham

    K. Hockaday, D. Jones, C. Wylie, D. McBain, C. Mason, W. Bell, K. Wylie, D. O’Callagham and J. Etherington

    SCM Supersonics:

E-mail received from Steve Butler, Supersonics, requesting that the following players be classed as development players and be allowed to float:  Sam Butterworth, Graham Bennett and Mark Winter.  Decision:  The League Committee do not feel that any of the three players are covered by the 'Development Rule' as young or less skilled older players and in fact doubt whether they are actually Division 3 players.  As all three are involved with the Division 3 side as coaches/assistants and provide transport for the younger players, and as SCM do not have a Division 2 side, we are willing to accept their registration into Division 3 and allow them to float.  However, these three players will be monitored and if the League Committee feels that this is not the case, then their registrations as Division 3 players will be reviewed.

Match B2, East Durham ‘B’ –v- Durham Saints, East Durham played unregistered players.  Decision:  Game to be awarded to Durham Saints but no fine will be imposed on East Durham.

An e-mail has been received from Phil McCarthy informing the League, that due to a number of issues, Middlesbrough Mavericks are withdrawing from the League.  They do hope to be able to rejoin the League next season.

    Cup Finals:

Sunderland University has kindly offered to host the Durham League Cup Finals at their new venue at the City of Sunderland and University Campus.  The provisional dates below have been fixed subject to confirmation from Sean Percival:

    Sunday 28th March 2009: Division 3 Cup Final  2.00 p.m.

                Division 2 Cup Final  4.00 p.m.

                Division 1 Cup Final  6.00 p.m.

    Monday 29th March 2009: Women’s County Cup Final 7.00 p.m.

    Tuesday 30th March 2009: Men’s County Cup Final 7.00 p.m.

    Wednesday 31st March 2009: Men’s All Star Game  7.00 p.m.

If these dates are agreed with Sunderland University, then no changes to the dates will be allowed and teams will have to make themselves available on the scheduled date.

    2. Referee Secretary’s Report

Durham Cougars failed to send referees to Richmond Vikings on Monday 21st September.  Decision:  Fined £20.00.

We will need to monitor team commitments allocated to the Richmond Vikings games and if necessary consider a sanction to be placed on to teams that fail to turn up, other than the fine.

    3. Fixture Secretary’s Report

The following fixtures have not been played and the result indicated in the final column will stand if the game is not rescheduled and played by the end of the season.  However, any additional information may be provided by teams for the League to consider.

1.         League Secretary’s Report

            Team Durham:

There has been a problem with the League registrations for Durham Panthers and Bobcats and no players have been registered.  This has now been resolved, however, Panthers have failed to cancel two of their games and Bobcats have played two games whilst players have not been registered.  Decision:  Durham Panthers to pay £54.00 to cover referees fees that were paid by the home teams.  Bobcats games against East Durham Ladies and Sonics to be awarded against Bobcats.  W25 East Durham -v- Bobcats = 20 – 0 and W30 Bobcats -v- Sonics = 0 – 20.

New Secretaries for Durham Panthers and Bobcats:

Panthers:  Ed Fox:  07515353712 e-mail:  e.m.fox@dur.ac.uk

Bobcats:  Helen Holah:  07590536109 e-mail:  h.f.holah@dur.ac.uk

Dave Elderkin has requested that a number of players be registered as development players in the Team Durham Club.  However, as all teams in the club play in the same division, it is not possible for them to be registered as development players.

Request for game to be played as double header:

A request has been made by Nunthorpe and Richmond to play games W35 and W48 as a double header on Monday 7th December.  Decision:  As there is still four months of the season remaining, there is time to re-arrange game W35 and therefore the request for this to be played as a double header is refused.

2.         Referee Secretary’s Report

W24 Sunderland Uni. Ladies -v- Tyneside: Referees and home team attended for the game but Tyneside did not show up.  Decision:  Tyneside to be fined £24.00 to cover the cost of the referee’s fees and game awarded to Sunderland Uni.

Matches B23 & W36 were cancelled, however, Sunderland University failed to inform one of the referees, Scott Holden.  Decision:  League to pay Scott his fees and Sunderland to be fined £28.00.

The following fixtures have not been played and the result indicated in the final column will stand if the game is not rescheduled and played by the end of the season.  However, any additional information may be provided by teams for the League to consider.
